Peace Palace, The Hague
Dialogue
In the footsteps of Bertha von Suttner: the first woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize (1905), a visionary pacifist whose call to ‘Lay down your arms!’ still resonates today.
Organised with the support of the French Embassy in the Netherlands, in partnership with the United Nations, the French Institute in the Netherlands, the City of The Hague, and several institutions committed to peace, this conference pays tribute to Bertha VON SUTTNER, the first woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize.
Program:
- Listen to female leaders, activists and Nobel laureates share their experiences in the field
- Take part in debates on places around the world where there is an urgent need to restore peace: Ukraine, Palestine, Sudan...
- Enjoy unique experiences: exhibitions, concerts, group meditation and film screenings
- The presentation of the 2025 Bertha von Suttner Peace Prize, awarded for the first time in The Hague, which will honour women peacebuilders.
François-Xavier Priollaud, Vice-President of the Normandy Region in charge of European and International Affairs, will open the second day of the event by presenting the Normandy for Peace initiative and its World Forum.
