The new American national security strategy marks a geopolitical shift. Far from isolationism, the “America First” slogan seems to signal a shift towards a form of diplomacy akin to a new imperialism.

From the arrest of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela to its ambitions to acquire Greenland, the United States is not burdened by multilateralism. Faced with a superpower that defends its interests through economic or political pressure, how can international law and multilateralism be upheld?
