Briona Collins is the Advocacy Lead at United Network of Young Peacebuilders (UNOY), a network of over 140 youth-led peacebuilding organisations in over 75 countries around the world. Her work focuses on ensuring youth voices from regions impacted by conflict, fragility and polarisation are represented in national, regional and global decision making spaces which historically exclude youth participation, and that their perspectives influence policies that directly impact young people. Originally from Belfast, in the North of Ireland and now based in The Netherlands, Briona’s work is rooted in a commitment to dismantle harmful and limiting narratives, as well as uneven power dynamics, highlighting the significance of young peacebuilders' contributions, their ongoing leadership and ensuring meaningful youth participation. Briona has extensive experience in the nexus between Youth, Peace and Security with Climate, Peace and Security and Women Peace and Security, as well as expertise in youth inclusive peace processes and mediation processes.
