Afsaneh Salari is an Iranian documentary filmmaker, editor and producer based between Paris and Tehran.

In 2015, she co-founded the Docmaniacs collective in Tehran, where she and other female filmmakers make and produce documentary films.

The film she produced, The Forbidden Strings, about an Afghan rock band, premiered at IDFA 2019.

The Silhouettes is her first feature-length documentary as a director and received a special mention from the jury at Visions du Réel 2020.

She also works as an editor at Ateliers Varan and as a creative consultant for film schools in Iran. She holds a master's degree in documentary filmmaking from Docnomads Joint Masters.
