Since 1994, the city of Bayeux, in partnership with the Calvados Department and the Normandy Region, has organized the Bayeux Calvados-Normandy War Correspondents’ Award. This unique event honors journalists who cover conflicts, often at the risk of their lives.

More than just an award, it is also a commitment to peace and freedom of information—values that are also championed by the Normandy for Peace initiative. Through exhibitions, debates, film screenings, and meetings, the Bayeux Calvados-Normandy Prize offers a window into current international events and global issues.
