Christine Lutringer

Christine Lutringer is a lecturer and researcher at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID), where she is also Executive Director of the Albert Hirschman Center on Democracy. Trained in political science and international history and politics, she studied in Strasbourg (Institut d'études politiques), Rome (Sapienza University and Luiss University), and Geneva (IHEID).

Her work focuses primarily on social movements, their influence on public policy and participatory practices, particularly in the context of youth mobilization. She leads projects such as "Youth Climate Activism and Local Institutions: Rethinking Democratic Spaces in the Face of Polarization," "DE.CO.DE – Decrypt, Co-create, Debate," and "Understanding the links between multilateralism and democracy to address global challenges."

Christine Lutringer has published numerous articles on citizen participation and contemporary democratic issues. Her recent work has been published in journals such as Development and Change, International Development Policy, and Societies. She also regularly participates in public debates on youth engagement and the mobilization of Generation Z.
