Vadym Omelchenko was born in 1963.

He graduated from Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University.

Vadym Omelchenko has had a career in law enforcement.

He has twice served as an advisor to the presidents of the Ukrainian parliament, headed a group of advisors to the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister on economic reforms, and has also been a consultant to the parliamentary commission on combating organised crime and corruption.

Vadym Omelchenko has taught at the Institute of International Relations at Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv and at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Since 2006, he has been President of the Gorshenin Institute. He has lectured at the Military School, the National Assembly and the French Senate, and has given numerous interviews and expert commentary on the situation in Ukraine to French media outlets, including Le Monde, La Croix and La Tribune.

Since August 2020 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to France.
