Organized by our partner The Conversation France, this webinar offers a reflection on Europe's role in addressing three major global challenges: climate, plastic pollution, and the supply of strategic resources.

The webinar brought together experts to discuss three major global challenges: climate, plastic pollution, and the supply of strategic resources. They highlighted the slowdown in global climate ambition in an uncertain context marked by the rise of extremes, with risks of economic competitiveness loss or climate leadership loss for Europe. Regarding plastic pollution, discussions towards an international treaty are still struggling to progress, hindered by the influence of industries. Finally, the transition to a decarbonized economy creates new challenges related to metals and rare earths. China dominates, followed closely by the United States, which is seeking to gain ground, for example by looking at resources in Greenland or Ukraine.
