On November 25th, the Normandy Region brought together in Rouen all the partners involved in the actions and events supported by the Normandy for Peace initiative. This meeting, organised to mark the initiative's eighth anniversary, aimed to share a collective assessment and define future directions for 2030.
A time for discussion at the heart of international issues
Institutions, media outlets, researchers, NGOs, educational stakeholders and grassroots associations came together for a day of strategic reflection, collaborative workshops and friendly discussions. Everyone contributed their expertise to consolidate Normandy's position as a region committed to dialogue, international cooperation and peacebuilding.
Eight years of action and a network of mobilised partners
Since 2018, the Normandy for Peace initiative has developed a series of major actions aimed at promoting understanding of international issues, peace education and dialogue between peoples. This dynamic would not have been possible without the ongoing involvement of its many partners, whose commitment was praised throughout the day.
The contributions shared during the thematic workshops will feed into the preparation of the 8th edition of the Normandy for Peace World Forum, to be held on 9 and 10 April, as well as the definition of new directions for the Normandy for Peace strategy for the coming years.
Building Normandy's future for peace together
The work carried out on November 25th has opened up new avenues for collaboration and strengthened synergies between the initiative's partners. The Normandy Region will continue these discussions over the coming months in order to turn these proposals into concrete actions.
Together, we will continue to uphold the values of peace, freedom and cooperation that make the Normandy Region unique and strong.
